  1. Playing Area -
    The number of players and size of the maxium recommended playing area per age range is:

    Under 8's 5v5 50yd x 30yd
    Under 9’s 6v6 60yd x 40yd
    Under 10's 7v7 60yd x 40yd

    Penalty area: length 10 yd (9.15 m) x width 18yds (16.47m).
    Penalty mark: 8 yards (7.32m) from the goal line opposite centre of goal.

    The goal size for all age groups is 12' by 6' (3.6m by 1.8m)
    WARNING In view of a number of accidents that have occurred it is necessary to ensure that portable goals of any size are either pinned or weighted to prevent them from toppling forward.

  2. The Ball -
    Under 8's & 9's Size 3
    Under 10's Size 4

  3. Number of Players -
    Players must play with and against players only from their own age range - within a two year age band. Players should not be allowed to begin to play until the Season of their 7th birthday. Each team must not have a squad greater than double the size of the team per age. Any number of substitutes, without being named, may be used at any time with the permission of the referee or game leader. A player who has been replaced may return to the playing area as a substitute for another player.

  4. Playing Equipment -
    Players are required to wear shin-guards. Corner flags may be used, provided they are at least 5ft high with rounded tops.

  5. Referees -
    A referee shall be appointed to officiate in each game. He shall have the same powers and duties as laid down in the Laws of the Game.

  6. Timekeeper/Scorer
    An independent timekeeper/scorer may be appointed to assist the referee. This official may:
    Record the goals,
    Act as timekeeper and signify half-time and full-time by an agreed signal.
    Suspend time on the referee’s instruction for all stoppages and add that time to the end of each half.
    Supervise the use of rolling substitutes if permitted by the rules of the competition.

  7. Duration of Game -
    No player shall play more, in any one day, than the stipulated period outlined below. Within this maximum the recommended duration of games is provided. Minutes each way max player participation per day
    Under 8's 10minutes 45minutes
    Under 9's 15minutes 60minutes
    Under 10's 15minutes 60minutes

  8. Start of Play -
    A kick-off is taken at the centre of the playing area to start the game and after a goal has been scored.

  9. Ball in and out of play -
    The game should be allowed to flow with as much ball contact as possible.

  10. Method of Scoring -
    A goal to be awarded when the the ball enters the oppositions goal when the ball is in play.

  11. Offside -
    There is no offside.

  12. Fouls & Misconduct
    A free kick is awarded to the opposition if a goalkeeper picks up the ball from back pass or throw in (all free kicks are direct in mini soccer) .

  13. Free Kicks -
    All free kicks are direct and the opposition must be at least 5 yards (4.5 m) away.

  14. Penalty kicks -
    Are taken from the penalty mark opposite the centre of the goal.

  15. Throw in -
    A throw in to be taken using both hands on the ball from behind the head, Both feet on the ground and behind the side line.

  16. Goal kicks
    A player of the defending team kicks the ball from any point within the penalty area. The opposition must be at least 5 yards (4.5 m) away from where the kick is taken until the ball is in play.

  17. Corner kicks -
    Opposition to be at least 5 yards (4.5 m) away
