The purpose of this policy is to ensure that the Rugby Town Girls & Ladies FC's website protects the safety and confidentiality of players and officials, including those representing opposing teams.

Purpose of Website

Rugby Town Girls & Ladies FC's values the contribution that a website can make to the life and role of the club. Rugby Town Girls & Ladies FC's website has 5 important roles:

1. To promote the Football Club.
2. To provide information to parents, players, coaches, other local teams, officials and the wider football community.
3. To act as a communication channel between coaches, parents, players and the club management.
4. To enhance children’s experience and enjoyment of football.
5. To raise standards in playing and coaching football.

Safeguards

Access and Approval
The Site Administrator has full access to the website. By default, all pages are locked for editing by the Site Administrator only.

Pages are unlocked by the Site Administrator for individual users (team managers) to edit. Each approved user is issued with a password that allows access only to the pages for their team. The Site Administrator has full control over adding new pages to the site. Users have to request a new page, which can then be created and unlocked for editing by the individual user.

Names, pictures and content

At Rugby Town Girls & Ladies FC's the safety and well being of players is paramount, and includes the use of images. Parental permission has been obtained before publishing any photographs of players, and before mentioning any players by name, including both Rugby Town Girls & Ladies FC's players and players representing opposing teams. We undertake every reasonable precaution to ensure that no individual child can be identified or contacted either via, or as a result of a visitor using, this website.

To ensure this

• No close-up pictures of players will be used, and pictures will only be published that contain two or more children.
• Images of players will not be labelled with their names.
• No personal details of players and all club officials details will be approved first, before featuring on this Rugby Town Girls & Ladies FC's website.
• From 1 September 2005, players will only be referred to by first names (eg Scott) or, where necessary, by first name and second initial (eg Scott W) on our web pages.

We will not include anything on this site which is likely to offend. If you think that we have broken any of our policies please email the website editor. Rugby Town Girls & Ladies FC's only want to promote best practice at all times.

Approved users (team managers) post information on their respective team pages at their own discretion, and are therefore individually responsible for the content of these pages.

The content of the website is checked regularly by the Site Administrator, and by senior members of the Rugby Town Girls & Ladies FC's Committee. It is the responsibility of the Site Administrator, club committee and team managers to ensure this happens.
