Ladies Tournament Winners & Runners up
Rugby Town make clean sweep of Ladies section.
Both teams successfully won their respective leagues with the Rugby Town B side winning all their games. The A side came top by virtue of goal difference in a tighter group even after losing a key player to a serious knee injury.
In the semi-finals Rugby Town B won 2:0 after extra time whilst the 5 player Rugby Town A ran out convincing 2:0 winners in normal time, in both cases against teams from Earls Barton FC. This lead to an all Rugby Town final. The final, as expected, was played in a celebratory fashion with the 6 player Rugby Town B side eventually running out 4:2 winners in extra time.
In the spirit of the tournament both sides went up to collect the winning trophy. WELL DONE to all who took part. |
