A little about Kathy Schweiker below and her time in football, but sure the under 14s will learn a lot more when she comes along to coach the girls in September.
I started at the age of 15 and decided to resign at 21 (was my own stupid decision!!). I played striker on right and left side, mainly right for VFB female team Leipzig (up to age of 18). I played in the league and was chosen to train for the German national team at the age of 18; being part of a special pre national team group named “under 21 youth”. I did my A-level in Football as well. Scored 25 in best season. I wasn’t great in penalties as I needed the action and movement. We had training 3 times a week and I got paid (not much) depending on performance and future outlook.
My coach said very often that I am the spirit of the team…………! I would say I just was much faster then the others……!
Rugby Town Girls FC welcomes Kathy to the club and hope she enjoys the coaching of the girls from the town. |
