Asfordby Amat u10s v Rugby Town U10s

This weekend served up a good game of football against a much improved Asfordby side.
On a sticky and bumpy pitch, the ball was sometimes hard to get under control and the match started pretty evenly between the teams but on the occasions Rugby did find their way through, they found an impressive Asfordby keeper in their way. Marley, Rosie and Katie kept a tight rein on the Asfordby forwards and limited them to very few chances but when they did break through, they found no way past Jenna.

In midfield Madi worked hard down the right and with Lila and Jasmine starting to make inroads, they freed up Melissa whose pace and skill finally paid dividends.

With nine players on hand, substitutions were made on a regular basis with some of the girls being asked to take up positions they would not normally play in. Holly was a prime example, who seamlessly switched from defence to midfield and gave an outstanding performance. As the game progressed, Rugby dominated the game with some excellent passing and they could quite easily have added more goals but they squandered lots of chances. So, more shooting practise this Friday girls……….

Parents Player: Close call between Madi and Holly but Holly got the final vote
