Sunday 21st September
It was a glorious, sun-soaked morning — the sort of day where football feels even more magical — as Rugby Town Girls FC U11 took to the field. Confidence was high, but the hosts, Dunton & Broughton side promised to be no easy task. With their squad of about 20! They were organized, determined, and ready to battle.
From the first whistle, though, Rugby Town showed they meant business. Captain Evie wasted no time in leading by example with great attacking play. With momentum flowing, Rugby continued with high-tempo attacking play. Evie especially had a tremendous first half . A captain’s performance for the ages!
But this was far from a one-player show. Midfield maestro Harleen put on another masterclass, dancing and jinking her way through the opposition like it was second nature.
In the second half, Rugby Town kept their foot firmly on the gas. Niamh was relentless in attack down the right, tormenting the Dunton & Broughton defense with wave after wave of pressure.
Making their debuts, Hannah and Emmanuella were nothing short of superb. Hannah stood tall in defense, refusing to let anything slip through, while Emmanuella slotted seamlessly into midfield, linking play with confidence well beyond her years.
Credit to our solid cousins, Brooke and Charlotte. A defiant midfield, Seren, along with Belinda .. Not forgetting Birthday Girl Sienna and the wall of defense known as Millie!
To their credit, Dunton & Broughton never stopped competing. They pressed, they challenged, and they worked hard throughout.
Smiles all around. What a day for the girls in blue!
