Coalville Town Rookettes vs. Rugby Town Girls U9

The U9s put in another excellent performance against Coalville Rookettes yesterday.

The girls started the game strongly and once again showed their desire to pass the ball around, play for each other and operate a high press.  The opposition defended resolutely and the girls tried quick passages of play to try to unlock the opposition’s defence.

Ellie put in another excellent all-round performance and has now fully fitted in the quick passages of play the team like to play.  Mia led the team as captain and played some lovely passes around the pitch.

Isabelle gave another non-stop performance and finished off some moves with precision.  Victoria hardly put a foot wrong all game and deservedly got the Coach’s Player of the Match trophy.

Maddie was as strong throughout as ever and won the Player’s Player of the Match Trophy voted by her teammates.

The girls should all be extremely proud of their performances, both individually, and as part of the team. Their movement, passing, strength in the tackle and overall play is very consistent. They play for each other, support each other and are an absolute pleasure to coach.

A special thanks must go to our wonderful hosts at Coalville who played some fantastic football in an excellent spirit. We wish them all the best for the season.
