Meet the Team – Claire

Next in our series of club volunteer profiles is Claire.

Claire became involved with RTGWFC when her 3 daughters joined the club over 4 years ago and it wasn’t long before she started to get more involved, volunteering for several activities.

Like many of our volunteer team, volunteering responsibility starts small but ends up growing, usually due to “encouragement” from our club secretary, Tony Dand 😊

Claire sits on the RTGWFC committee and initially assumed responsibility for the club kit and equipment. At the start of each season, Claire ensures new signings to the club have the kit they require, teams have the equipment they need and that teams have their kit.

The 2019/20 season has been particularly busy on the kit and equipment front, due to us moving home grounds and our teams moving to the blue kit.  Now, thanks to all our generous sponsors, and Claire’s hard work, all our teams look fantastic in their new kit.

To grow our club identify, Claire has also been instrumental in working with Macron Store Northamptonshire, to set up our own club shop which offers a great range of branded merchandise for our members to purchase.

Claire works on applying for various local and national grants to support our club. Last year the club were awarded a local community grant that allowed us to create 2 new teams.   This year, several grant applications are currently being worked on and Claire is hopefully that they will be awarded to continue growth and investment into the club.

Claire is a fully qualified and licenced FA coach. She has been coaching our very successful U13 team for the last 2 years. Claire’s eldest daughter plays for the U13 team, and her other two daughters play for the U9 and the newly forming U8 team.   It seems that football may be a big part of this family for many years to come!   You can usually spot Claire and her daughters as they charge around Butlin Road in AFC Bournemouth shirts.

Claire also assists with the club social media, mainly Facebook and Instagram. With her main passion being Instagram, Claire is a committed “grammer” for RTGWFC and if you follow the club, you will be familiar with the variety of pictures posted, from training videos, to volunteer profile, match day pics and social events.

Claire is heavily involved in many aspects of RTGWFC and enjoys seeing the club grow and helping to provide a great environment for playing football, making friends and having fun.

“I very much enjoy all my activities that I undertake for RTGWFC.   I take pride in contributing to such a great club and making a positive impact on so many young peoples lives.   I also appreciate the benefits that being involved in the club bring me, such as great relationships and friendships with both the parents of my U13s squad and all the volunteers at RTGWFC”
