Rugby Town Ladies FC sponsored by Jamesway Travel welcomed Stourbridge Ladies to Kilsby Lane, both teams struggling with confidence and it showed, not the best game to watch.
Rugby had a couple of players back from injury but still a few playing with niggling injuries which is taking its toll on the work/football schedule. Rugby went 1 up and then 2-1 up in before picking up 2 more injuries to players which stretched the team to the limit again.
Finally, with Rugby under pressure for so long, Stourbridge broke their resolve and scored 2 quick goals to secure the points. One thing for sure is that Rugby Ladies are not hitting the heights of the playing ability they showed last season and with over half the squad now on the treatment table, the team will be looking to bounce back asap, with the whole team pulling together until players return from injury.
