A great team performance from the U10s away at Mountsorrel, probably the best team performance of the season so far. Every member of the team helping each other out was very pleasing to see, we were quicker to the ball this week, quicker to find space on a very tight pitch, better passing to feet, quicker marking of opposition players & quicker tracking back & an all round superb team effort from the girls.
Marley shone in her role as captain this week, a solid first time captains performance, vocal & commanding, backed up by great defensive work from Jenna & Rosie who stifled the Mountsorrel attack. Another first timer this week was Poppy who stepped up to take the GK duties, quiet for some of the game but never let her concentration drop & did some excellent work when called upon, brave when smothering the ball at the oppositions feet.
Hard work from the midfield pairing of Madi & Lila paid off for both of them, each of them putting in sterling performances & backed up by Holly & Lois from the bench when needing a breather. Great running from Melissa as usual, superb holding up of the ball & feeding the midfield runners this week when needed.
A much improved performance on last week by the whole team, well done girls!
