Aileen’s father Declan Whelan started RUGBY Town Girls FC back in 1996 and it’s the club where Aileen took her first steps in to football and her career has gone on strength to strength.
From winning gold at the University Games for GB to Supper League 2 Player of the month.
Aileen has had to wait for her chance like all footballers do, just goes to show you need the dedication for the long haul and you can reap the awards. Girls hard work, training & dedication pays off.
Aileen still pays visits back the club from time to time, she has promised to come and see the girls on a Friday night soon, we will let you all know, maybe even her father Declan will take a visit sometime soon to see how far the club has come from those first steps back in 1996.
